چکیده

Presently there exists a great demand for wireless systems that achieve high data transmission rates while using as little power and bandwidth as possible. Maximum data transfer for a given channel width demands sophisticated modulation techniques, the best of which require a linear power amplifier (PA). The strong tradeoff between linearity and power efficiency in PA’s has motivated research into linearization techniques, of which Cartesian feedback is an important and promising example [l], [2]. Figure 1 shows a t.ypical Cartesian feedback system.

A hybrid Cartesian loop and envelope modulated PA linear transmitter architecture

A high efficiency and linearity P A solution is presented based on hybrid linearisation schemes that employ complementary techniques to overcome the weakness (or constraints) of either method on its own. I n particular, the high linearity of Cartesian loop is combined with the high efficiency of Envelope Elimination and Restoration (EER). The results of a prototype hybrid linearised PA built us...

Cartesian feedback lineariser restrictions in the Ka-band

The Cartesian feedback technique is an extended solution for reducing the distortions generated by the nonlinearities of power RF amplifiers, being its restrictions of use related to the stability margins of the lineariser loop. Here, considerations are given to its use in the Ka-band, where the small wavelengths lead to critical times and phase unbalances which produce misadjustments of the fe...

Analyzing the Effect Adding an Active Feedback Network with an Inductive behavior to a Common-Gate Topology as a Transimpedance Amplifier for Low-Power and Wide-Band Communication Applications

Common Gate (CG) topologies are commonly used as the first stage in Transimpedance Amplifiers (TIA), due to their low input resistance. But, this structure is not solely used as a TIA and comes with other topologies such as differential amplifiers or negative resistances and capacitances. This paper deals with analyzing the effect of adding an active feedback network to a common gate topology...

Memoryless Non Linear Modeling of Power Amplifier

To ensure that linearity is maintained to a high degree, it is necessary to examine the nature of amplifier distortion. Audio amplifier distortion is of concern for many years. The conventional feedback techniques used at audio frequencies are not applicable to many RF amplifiers due to following problems: 1. Stability at high bandwidth; 2. Cost for high gains in RF stages. Memory less or Insta...

Active-Feedback Frequency-Compensation Technique for Low-Power Multistage Amplifiers

An active-feedback frequency-compensation (AFFC) technique for low-power operational amplifiers is presented in this paper. With an active-feedback mechanism, a high-speed block separates the low-frequency high-gain path and high-frequency signal path such that high gain and wide bandwidth can be achieved simultaneously in the AFFC amplifier. The gain stage in the active-feedback network also r...
